ICLW Week

Welcome, welcome, welcome to to anyone visiting from ICLW.  Also, a big hello and welcome if you are not from ICLW, and just happened to stop by!

I am extremely grateful that I found ICLW when I first started blogging, literally within the first week of my very first post.  ICLW has connected me with so many amazing bloggers, many of which I now can even call friend.  The support that I have found is priceless.

I think the best recap of my infertility journey is in this Letter to my family that I wrote just last week.  Most of them had no idea what my husband and I had been through in the last 15 months, and I was finally sharing my story with them.  Even though the last 15 months have been the emotional roller coaster, that was not the beginning of us trying to start our family.  That journey began about 13 years ago...

Thank you for stopping by my blog and taking the time to introduce yourself to me.  I am excited and looking forward to any new friendships that I may find this week!

  1. A beautifully written letter. When we started our journey, we told everyone. But like you have said, it was good to have Mel & the ICLW, to help us connect with others who felt & knew about what we were going through. Happy ICLW!

    1. Thank you. Yeah, we mostly kept things quite throughout the process. Those we did tell, we didn't share WHEN things were happening WHILE they were happening. Happy ICLW to you too!

  5. Hello!
This is my first post EVER on a blog. I have to tell you that you inspire me so much and give me strength! My husband and I are traveling on a journey much like yours. We have been married for 13 years, and have been trying for the past 5 years to expand our family. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks 3 years ago. Now we are looking into using an egg donor. My doctor told me I have a low ovarian reserve, and my eggs are "out of gas". Your quote yesterday gave me the courage to call my Dr. office to get some results of a blood test I took last week. I swore I wasn't going to call, I was going to wait for them to call me... but then your quote helped me remain positive. Thank you so much for allowing me to read about your journey. PS.Softball is a huge part of my life too, I played all through college. So I connected with you that way too! There has to be a reason we are going through this I really believe it!

    1. This might be my favorite comment EVER! Thank you so much for following my story and for introducing yourself. It always seems so amazing to me when I hear someone say that I am inspiring to them. Really, there is no better compliment. Thank you! I am so glad you found the courage to call your doctor for the results you were waiting for. Good luck as you venture forward in using an egg donor. Don't hesitate to ask, if you have any questions or just need someone to bounce ideas off of. pantheramber@gmail.com

P.S. You played softball??!!!?? That is so exciting to hear! Where did you play in college if you don't mind me asking? I always feel like I will bore people to death if I write too much about my softball life, so I don't tend to say much. At least I haven't yet. Softball season starts next week though, so that may change....

    3. I just read your response! I am so happy to make your "favorite comment ever" catagory! This past Monday I had that HSG dye test... Yikes! I am glad that is over. I am scheduled to ovulate this weekend, so I am hoping I am one of those lucky girls that gets Prego following this procedure. I have been doing a lot of reading on it, and for some woman that is all they need! Fingers Crossed! ( I like being positive for a change, something for me to hang on to)

To answer your question on Softball, I played at Niagara University, upstate New York. Hope your new season is going well so far! Thanks again for your reply! Talk to you soon!
