But wouldn't you know it, I woke up to it raining again this morning. I knew it would happen. I expected nothing less as I have spent the last 2 years with it pouring down rain the first week of tryouts. I was hoping though....
Now, I can only hope that there is a break in the weather this afternoon and it is at least not pouring on us during our practice. There is a 30% chance of rain predicted. It also is going to be only 47 degrees. Which isn't freezing, I know, but it sure does feel like it when you are outside in it and wet to boot! Even if we do get a break in the rain, I'm pretty sure our field will not be playable. Sigh....
I love Oregon, but I
One thing I do know, though, is that this will help pass the time while I wait to start my FET in May :)
Wet weather sucks! It was gorgeous here in Bend yesterday. Blue skies, sunshine and it was 50*! We had a light dusting of snow a few days prior. I am ready for summer!
ReplyDeleteFET-- YAY!! I love that you are going for it!
So glad that you have something that you love to keep you occupied until May!
ReplyDeleteYou always know it is softball season when it is cold and raining :)
ReplyDeleteHave fun on the field! Anything that helps pass the time and distract you is great.
ReplyDeleteI live across the street from a high school. More specifically, I am right across from the girls softball field. I can always hear the games in the afternoons. Those girls are loud! So thanks for the heads up that the season is starting. ;)
ReplyDeletelol that is funny. Yes, the girls are very loud! But it is so much fun :)
DeleteDistractions are great. Hopefully spring will be here soon for everyone, I'm super sick of cold and snow.
ReplyDeleteGood luck today! Hope it keeps your mind off everything.
ReplyDeleteDistractions are such a good thing. Hoping that it helps pass time for y'all. May needs to hurry up and get here. I am so looking forward to cheering you on.
ReplyDeleteSoftball sounds like a GREAT way to pass the time til May. I'm already holding on tight to a vision of success for you in May.
ReplyDeleteI know this must be a little bitter sweet as you were hoping to have a reason not to be coaching. I play field hockey in the fall and I was hoping last season that I wouldn't be playing due to pregnancy, I dreaded the start, but once the we got a few games into the season, I was really happy to be on the field again. Sigh, I have the feeling that I'll be on the roster as a full time player this year too!
ReplyDeleteI loved playing softball as a kid (and actually still play now in coed leagues). When you described spring tryouts in the rain, it brought back incredibly vivid memories of the smell of a wet softball field. Do you know what I'm talking about?! I miss that smell!
ReplyDeleteGlad your keeping busy! May will be here soon!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou must be very busy this week! Hope practice is going well - I am sure all that work is getting you back into your awesome shape and taking your mind off things! May will be here before you know it! dont be a stranger here - we will miss you too much!
ReplyDeleteBless you Amber. I do hope that softball is giving you a distraction and May is just around the corner. It does look like you are blogging less. Are you keeping up on all of your blog reading? Something has to give!!! Just curious as to what does loose momentum during softball. Auntie
