Microblog Monday: Vacation Made Us Sick

We got to spend 8 days in Cabo San Lucas! Unfortunately, Ayden spent half the trip sick, and the rest of us got sick either the last few days while still there or once we got home. I fall into the once we got home category. We got home late Wednesday night last week. I spent all day Thursday unpacking and doing laundry, and by the end of the day started feeling poorly. However, I had a national softball coaching clinic to attend all day Friday and Saturday, so I didn't have time to be sick! It was an overnight hotel stay by myself, with nobody else to be responsible for, and I spent it with a sore throat and trying not to cough up a lung on the people around me at the clinic.

By the time I made it home Saturday night, I was exhausted and ready to crawl into bed, and that is what I did! I spent all day yesterday in bed watching a few movies on Netflix, and Tony took care of the kids.

Despite everyone getting sick while in Mexico and/or once we got home, we still had a wonderful vacation, which I plan to write a blog post about soon. So many blog posts I need to write. Why is it that I can never catch up??? Ahhh, well, it is what it is.

  1. Busy families always go down with something when they stop and relax! We have a half term trip coming up in a few weeks, and I hope we don’t end up in the emergency GP clinic almost being sent to hospital with a nasty fever this year. Hope you feel better and everyone gets a happy glow from remembering the great bits of the holiday.

  5. Is this sick from drinking the water? I went to Cancun about ten years ago and was so careful about the water, but drank ice from a soda machine! Is that still a thing with the water?

    1. I do think that is still a thing, not to drink the water in Mexico, but I don't think that's what got us down. We only drank bottled water while there, and the water we did use (to brush teeth, etc.) was at our resort which is "supposed" to be okay. It's not uncommon to come back from Mexico with a tummy bug of some sort, but this is more of a long standing cough that won't go away.

  6. I had this too when I got a hotel for myself in January! I was so excited to be there alone and I was SICK with something similar as you and it was miserable. Still sounds like a great vacation though!

    1. So unfair to be sick when we finally get that rare night away by ourselves! Of course, at least then we aren't sick at home with kiddos that don't understand your need to not be needed! lol
