Microblog Monday: Pampered

Last Thursday was Rylee and Ayden's first overnight with the grandparents. MIL picked the kids up around 4:00 and then I had the other set of twins that I do daycare for until 5:00. Then we had the whole night to ourselves! It was weird, but glorious at the same time. We did nothing. Haha!

Friday began a weekend of pampering for myself. I got my hair trimmed and colored for the first time in over 3 months! I was REALLY turning grey, so it was nice to finally get that covered up.

On Saturday, I finally used my spa gift certificate that Tony gave me TWO Christmases ago! My feet have never been the same since pregnancy. I swear that gaining that extra 26 lbs in fluid during my last week of pregnancy ruined my feet forever! My heels get so dry that they actually tear holes in my socks regularly. No foot care that I do seems to really help. It was sooooo nice to finally get in and have a big time pedicure done and get my feet scrubbed! I wish I had the money to do that more often. It was the best Christmas gift ever, even though it took me so long to actually use it!

Sunday, Tony took the kids to visit his grandpa (who is not doing well) and to go see my sister and her family. I was able to stay home by myself and work on getting stuff together for the upcoming consignment sale in March. It was so nice to be able to work uninterrupted!

It was so nice to be able to do things for myself over the weekend. It was perfect.

  1. It's nice when we can use the word PERFECT and especially to describe a whole week-end!!! I'm glad that you enjoyed yourself and got some well deserved pampering!!! Did you get all of the consignment work done? I hope that Grandma & Grandpa enjoyed their time!!! Love and hugs, Auntie

    1. Hah! No, I didn't get all my consignment sale stuff done. Still a long way from that. However, I did get almost all of it listed in the computer so I can print out tags. Then I need to cut the tags, hang and tag everything! I have three more weeks to get it done. I think they all enjoyed the sleepover, but didn't get a lot of sleep. When I asked mil if they would be up to doing it again, she said yes but not for a long time! Lol :)

    2. WOW, there is a LOT of work/time that goes into those consignment sales! But every little penny helps and great deals for future clothing to keep those 2 looking adorable!! Grandma's get really use to our uninterrupted sleep and it takes soooooo much longer to recuperate from lack of sleep!!!!!:) But we forget quicker too as we love our grandbabies and time with them!!!!

  2. That sounds like a wonderful weekend -- a good combination of relaxation and to-do list accomplishment.

    1. I didn't get a full massage, just the foot and lower leg rub that comes with the spa pedicure. A full body massage would have been wonderful, but I still enjoyed my pedicure!

    1. I never had this problem before getting pregnant! I'll take dry and cracked heels any day though, in exchange for my babies! :)

  5. My feet are also wrecked post pregnancy. I developed plantar fascitis while preggo, which still Clair's from time to time. I had to move up a size in my swimming fins and I'm getting painful bunions. I feared stretch marks, my C/s scar, varicose veins, no one warns you about your feet!

  7. I'm late to this but gah! Amazing!!!! I need to do this! And yes, my feet suck too, but mine have been bad since before pregnancy, with bad dryness. To be fair, I don't put lotion on a ton or do much to them, so it makes sense. Ha! Sounds like a relaxing weekend!
